Aase Fund Award Recipients
On behalf of our generous donors, the board of the Lynn Aase MUN Legacy Foundation is pleased to announce that we have awarded the following travel grants to assist top students in the Model United Nations program at Huntington Beach High School.
Outstanding Delegation Award
2022-23 Harvard University, $2,400
The Aase Fund supported two HBHS seniors
competing at the Harvard Model United Nations conference
in Boston January 26-29, 2023.
The two awards, of $1,200 each,
covered about half of each student’s estimated costs.
These were the first Aase Fund Awards.





Award of Distinction (Best School)
for Research and Debate
2023-24 National, New York, $4,000
The Aase Fund supported four HBHS juniors competing
at the National High School Model United Nations
Conference in New York City in Spring of 2024.
The four awards, of $1,000 each, covered about half of each student’s estimated costs and totaled $4,000.


Outstanding Delegation Award
2024-25 SSUNS, Montreal, Canada, $3,750
The Aase Fund supported three HBHS seniors
competing at the Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) in Montreal, Canada, November 7-10, 2024.
The three awards, of $1,250 each, covered about half of each student’s estimated costs and totaled $3,750





Award of Distinction (Best School)
for Research and Debate
2024-25 National, New York, $3,750
The Aase Fund supported four HBHS juniors
competing at the National High School Model United Nations Conference held in New York City in March 2025.
The four awards together totaled $3,750.




Best Large Delegation
2025-26 BUSUN, Brown University, $2,750
The Aase Fund supported three HBHS seniors
competing at the Brown University Simulation of the United Nations (BUSUN), held on the Brown University campus from November 14-16, 2025.
The three awards together totaled $2,750.




Best Delegation
2025-26 NAIMUN, Georgetown University, $2,000
The Aase Fund supported two juniors to attend the North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) run by the Georgetown International Relations Association
in Washington DC in February 2026.
The two awards of $1,000 each totaled $2,000.




2025-26 National (NHSMUN) New York Applications
The Aase Fund will be supporting three juniors at the
National (NHSMUN) in New York in March 2026.
